E-Learning and Training Packages

This section provides access to the e-learning courses on Energy Efficiency, the training package on Alternative Fuels, and the training programme to promote the implementation of the IMO GHG Strategy in least developed countries (LDCs) and small islands and developing states (SIDS).

E-Learning Course on Energy Efficient Ship Operation

A general introduction into better understanding how the maritime industry can reduce its environmental carbon footprint through practical measures to save energy on board. This e-learning course has been developed by the Low Carbon GIA under Greenvoyage2050.

E-Learning Course on Energy Saving at Sea

Primarily aimed at seafarers, this course covers detailed practical measures that can be taken by the Engine department and Deck department on board ships to save energy in their day-to-day operations. This e-learning course has been developed by the Low Carbon GIA under Greenvoyage2050.

Workshop Package on Alternative Fuels

Workshop package, developed by GreenVoyage 2050, exploring various alternative fuels and energy carriers for the maritime sector, including those that are commercially available as well as currently under development. The workshop considers potential production pathways, emission reduction potential, infrastructure and onboard requirements, as well as implications on cost.

IMO-RoK GHG SMART Training Programme

The GHG SMART Training Programme aims to support the implementation of the IMO GHG Strategy by initiating capacity-building activities for SIDS and LDCs through a series of training courses and industry visits, with the purpose of building sufficient human capacity in these countries. The GHG training course is being delivered through the IMO LMS Moodle, which is used as a repository of the training materials and to submit assignments. This training programme has been developed by the project  GHG SMART.
