Discover the August 2026 updates in supply and ship uptake of alternative fuels provided by DNV’s Alternative Fuels Insight (AFI) platform through the Data overview section.

Updated: Safety guidelines

The Safety guidelines section has been updated to include the new interim guidelines for the safety of ships using hydrogen as fuel and for use of ammonia cargo as fuel, as recently approved at the 111th session of IMO's Marine Safety Committee.

New: Methane-based fuels webpage

Building on the Technical seminar on methane-based fuels the new webpage includes expanded information, a better overview of production pathways of methane-based fuels, and sections dedicated to e- and bio-methane. This webpage has been developed with support from Argus Media, DNV, e-NG Coalition, LR, S&P Global, SEA-LNG and SGMF.
