2025 Workshop on the Relationship between Ship Energy Efficiency and Underwater Radiated Noise

Workshop dates: 6-7 November 2025 @ IMO HQ / Hybrid

The 2025 Workshop on the Relationship between Ship Energy Efficiency and Underwater Radiated Noise, co-sponsored by IMO and GEF-UNDP-IMO GloNoise Partnership, will take place in hybrid mode at IMO Headquarters, 4 Albert Embankment, London SE1 7SR.

Objectives

Building on the outcomes and successes of the 2023 workshop and recent research and practical advancements, the 2025 workshop on ship energy efficiency and underwater radiated noise (EE/URN) will be organized into four sessions with the following proposed main themes and objectives:

Day 1

  • Theme 1: Updates on technical energy efficiency and underwater radiated noise reduction advances
  • Theme 2: Integrated EE and URN management, cost evaluation and incentivization schemes

Day 2

  • Theme 3: Towards Integrated Design Standards for EE and URN
  • Theme 4: Predictive Models to Evaluate Co-Benefits Relative to EE and URN Objectives

 

This hybrid event will be live-streamed via the IMO YouTube channel, also available through the homepage at futurefuels.imo.org.
